Description: Promenade in the Old Port by Carlo Cosentino is executed in a neo-realism style typical of the artist. It shows a segment of de la Commune Street in the Old Montreal comprising the bright metal dome of the Bonsecours Old Market in the background. At the forefront of the work, there is a horse carriage which is slowly making its way. The palette is in earth tones, using light browns and greys cut with the striking orangey hues of the porch roof of a local restaurant. The light and shadow effects in this work are also to be admired.
