Technique: Oil on canvas Size: 20" x 28" Framing: Framed Cost: On Request Availability: SOLD Description: Museum of Fine Arts, Sherbrooke Street by Carlo Cosentino is executed in a neo-realism style typical of the artist. It shows a segment of Sherbrooke Street West, in downtown Montreal, comprising the new aisle of the museum designed by Moshe Safdie which is situated between two churches. There is a horse carriage which is slowly making its way. The palette is in earth tones, using browns and light pinks for the bricks and stones of the buildings with a wet and translucent pavement in tones of blues and terra cotta. The shadows indicate a late afternoon in winter. |
