Description: Bloomsville by Jae Dougall is a work at the verge of the neo-expressionist and neo-impressionist art not without reminding us of the Dutch modern art movement. It depicts a luscious still life on a red dressed table with a blue and white porcelain dish containing pears and another one containing oranges. A vase with full bloomed roses, a romantic candlestick and two ornamental chairs contribute to the abundance of the whole ensemble. In the background, a strong vertical divides the work: on the left side, an open view on a blooming garden and on the right side, a bright flowery wallpaper displaying natural motives with a red bird. The whole painting is executed using multiple large brush strokes in a extravagant palette of red, yellow, orange, pink, green and white hues.
