Description: Nu l'Indienne by Jae Dougall is a work at the verge of the neo-expressionist and neo-impressionist art not without reminding us of the Dutch modern art movement. It depicts a female nude, ornamented with veils and jewelry, reclining on sumptuous cushions. In the foreground, a green vase contains a unique pure white flower. In the background, a strong vertical divides the work: on the left side, a nocturnal view of a garden appears through an open window and on the right side, a wallpaper displays ornamental motives. The whole painting is executed using multiple large brush strokes in a extravagant palette of mauve, brown and beige, red, green, orange, blue and white hues.
