Description: Samurais I (1/4), Path of Gods/Shinto (2/4), Garden of Turquoise (3/4), Samurais II (4/4) by Tania Lebedeff is an abstract expressionist painting. This quadriptych is part of a new series on the Japanese elements by the artist. The vertical sequence of four small paintings enhances the characters' qualities of each miniature. The encaustic gives a special texture to the whole ensemble which is executed in a balance of accuracy and sobriety using a palette of green, turquoise, yellow, grey and orange.
