Joseph Anthony B.

Joseph Anthony B. was born in Maia, a small village in the Azores Islands, Portugal. He arrived in Montreal, Canada at the age of twelve with his head full of Elvis Presley’s songs. The same year, he started his first music group.
Joseph Anthony B. is committed to strong physical, vocal and instrumental training. He sang as lead singer for different groups: “José and Friends” (1971-73), “B.W. RAT” (1973-78), “Hodge & O’Brian” (1978), “Corpus” (1978-86), “John Parrat Project” (1986), “Neutral Ground” (1987-88), “Common Ground” (1996-98) and “Request” (2003-04) where he was invited to join as signer and guitar player.
In 1975, he won the “Golden Gloves Award” in amateur boxing and was qualified to join the Canadian Boxing Team for the 1976 Olympic Games.
In 1997, he was invited to join the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra of Montreal as a saxophonist.
In 2000 and 2003, his two daughters were born. “Message of Love” was recorded in studio from 2004 to 2006 and released in 2007. “And the Angels Are Crying” - his second album – was released in 2010.
Joseph Anthony B. started to paint extensively in 2008 after a personal life trauma. Painting became like a safety-valve for his excessive pain. The artist paints interior and exterior landscapes of quietness; of pure calm and beauty.
